Visit the nearby fishing port with information center or relax on the beach of the Lauwersmeer lake. Visit the seal breeding station in Pieterburen or take part in a mudflat hike. The port of Zoutkamp and the town of Dokkum are also great places to visit. On the way there, you will pass extensive meadows and traditional farms. During your vacation, be sure to visit Schiermonnikoog, a characteristic Wadden island with a varied landscape of beaches, dunes, forests and wetlands.
